- What is included in the monthly fee?
- Evergreen Woods offers residents outstanding value with all-inclusive pricing. The basic monthly fee includes:
- Choice of one-, two- or two-bedroom with den apartment homes
- Dining plan
- All utilities, except phone and internet
- Weekly housekeeping and linen service
- Participation in activity programs and social events
- Scheduled transportation within the local community
- Security/concierge services
- 24-hour emergency response system
- Health care in the Health Center
- What is the dining plan?
- The monthly fee provides for one meal per day in our gracious dining room along with a daily continental breakfast in the Club Room. Additional meals are available for a nominal charge.
- What happens to the monthly fee if the resident is away part of the year?
- Numerous operating costs are incurred each month to provide all residents the promised services. Most of these do not vary when a resident is away from the community. However, if a resident is away from the community for a prolonged period, the resident may be eligible for a partial meal credit.
- Are there additional services available beyond those included in the monthly fee?
- Additional services include—but are not limited to—catering, additional residential housekeeping and maintenance services, extra meals, and therapies. These services may be purchased on a fee-for-service basis. By additional arrangement, assisted living services are also available in the comfort and privacy of your Evergreen Woods home through our Assisted Living Services Agency (ALSA) program for short- or long-term support with daily activities.
- Are my guests welcome?
- Family and friends are always welcome. Guests are permitted to stay in residences on a short-term basis.
- Will pets be allowed?
- Yes, domesticated pets will be allowed in the community. However, it is the resident’s responsibility to provide care for the pet and ensure that the pet does not infringe on the other residents’ privacy and enjoyment of the community.
- What is the advantage of Life Care?
- As a Life Care Community, Evergreen Woods provides a continuum of living arrangements to residents—from independent living to long-term skilled nursing care. Our residents are guaranteed unlimited access to our on-site Health Care at virtually no increase to their monthly fee.*
- How does the Life Care concept protect my estate?
- Evergreen Woods provides for a refund of as much as 70% of the entrance fee to you or your estate. Because Evergreen Woods provides true life care living without permanent disruption to your estate, you can be assured that the estate you’ve worked hard to build will be protected.
- Are there tax advantages to living at Evergreen Woods?
- Evergreen Woods residents are entitled to make an annual tax deduction of the portion of their monthly service fees that can be attributed to medical costs. This figure is calculated each calendar year and may differ somewhat each year. Ask your community representative for detailed tax benefit information.
- Assisted living services are also available in the comfort of each resident’s own home through our Assisted Living Services Agency (ALSA) program for an additional fee.
- What is the significance of CCAC accreditation?
- The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities has accredited Evergreen Woods through the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CARF-CCAC) for meeting rigorous standards of high quality and service. This accreditation is widely regarded as the mark quality in retirement communities, assuring the consumer that the community is committed to ongoing organizational excellence, sound financial reserves and conformance to high quality standards. Accreditation is a simple way by which one can evaluate the many retirement options available.
